NEET-PG 2023 Exam Delayed Supreme Court Prioritizes Candidate Safety

In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic, the Supreme Court of India recently considered a request to postpone the National Eligibility and Cumulative Entrance Test-Postgraduate (NEET-PG) 2023. A group of doctors submitted the petition, claiming that holding the exam under the existing circumstances would be dangerous to the candidates' health. The exam's sponsor, the National Board of Examinations (NBE), disagreed with the claim and asserted that all essential precautions would be taken to assure the students' safety.

The Supreme Court requested the NBE to provide a thorough report on the actions taken to safeguard the safety of the candidates during the hearing, including efforts like expanding the number of exam centers and lowering the number of applicants.

The NEET-PG 2023 exam has been postponed by the Supreme Court until further notice after taking both sides' views into account. The Court ruled that during the pandemic, it was crucial to put the candidates' health and safety first. The Court further ordered the NBE to provide a thorough report on the procedures it took to protect the applicants' safety and stipulated that the exam could only be held once it was satisfied that all essential safeguards had been taken  In conclusion, the NEET-PG 2023 exam has been postponed by the Supreme Court till further notice due to worries about the candidates' safety during the continuing COVID-19 pandemic.
